Gentilini: Cookies, Sweets, Lazio

This renowned Roman bakery's recipes have remained unchanged since the early 1800's, and has a vast line of pastry and dry cookies, all ideal as accompaniments for tea, coffee, or hot chocolate. Italian Harvest imports some of their baked specialties including flavored biscuits and panettone and pandoro holiday treats. Their Osvego cookies came from a tea biscuit that were first made in Britain in the 1700s to accompany a tea made from the Native American plant monarda dydima grown along the east coast of North America. Inspired by this original biscuit, Pietro Gentilini began production of the Osvego cookies that we know today.
