Venere Black Rice

A hybrid of the Himalayan black rice with an Italian variety and grown in the PO River Valley area of northern Italy. The color is due to a natural pigment, while its "nutty" texture makes it delicious when served simply. Ideal served with olive oil drizzled over the top as accompaniment to seafood and meat dishes. It is beautiful not only because of the black, glittery reflections when served, but also due to the fragrance of sandalwood while cooking.
Suggested use:
40-45 minutes cooking time. Use also in cold rice salads, cakes, or puddings.
